Livia Whisenhunt, President, CEO and founder of PS Energy Group, has nearly three decades of experience in purchasing and marketing fuels for transportation and production. She has been instrumental in spearheading and executing most of PS Energy Group's major expansion service milestones and is responsible for setting the company's strategic direction and leading its growth. Under Ms. Whisenhunt's leadership, the company has grown from number 85 in Hispanic Business magazine's top 500 Hispanic-owned businesses in 1999 to number 32 in 2010.
In 1999, she was appointed Region IV Chairperson of the Federal Regulatory Fairness Board (REGFAIR), a board established by Congress and the President under the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act of 1996, to represent small businesses and comment on the enforcement activities of federal regulatory agencies.In June 2005, Ms. Whisenhunt was appointed by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue to the Board of Directors of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, the state of Georgia authority that works to improve the state's mobility, air quality, and land use practices.
Ms. Whisenhunt's hard work and determination have earned her tremendous respect and recognition. She has won numerous awards, including being named one of the nation's "Top 40 Under 40" by Entrepreneur magazine, the "Small Business Person of the Year" by the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and "Southeast Wholesale Entrepreneur of the Year" by Ernst & Young. In addition, she was the recipient of the Entrepreneur "Blueprint Award" by Atlanta's Women Looking Ahead magazine and the "Innovator of the Year" Catalyst Award by Business to Business magazine, and was named the 2010 Hispanic Business Woman of the Year by the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
