Founded in 1985, by Livia Whisenhunt, PS Energy Group was established as a wholesale marketer of bulk transportation fuels.

In 1986, PS Energy Group incorporated in the State of Georgia and began marketing wholesale natural gas to industry and government, in addition to gasoline and diesel fuel.

Through the acquisition of Unattended Fuel Outlets (UFOs), in 1989, the Company expanded its customer base to include retail customers. It later went further into the retail market place, when in 1998, under the brand name, GasKey, it became one of the first certificated marketers under the Georgia deregulated natural gas program.

 

In 1993 PS Energy won its first milestone Fuel Management contract with The Southern Company, from which it successfully launched an aggressive marketing effort to sell fuel management services to other major utilities, as well as state and county governments and municipalities.

In 1995 the Company signed a long-term agreement with a major utility company to launch an innovative program designed to provide emergency fueling services for its fleets throughout a nine-state area. This program is still operating and is now being utilized by other utilities in the Southeast, as well.

During the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, PS Energy Group was awarded a contract with ACOG and MARTA to build and manage temporary fueling sites for transit buses brought in to accommodate increased transportation needs.

In 2000, PS Energy began marketing the etrac™ real-time GPS Automated Vehicle Location system. The etrac™ system was designed to help business owners and managers of companies that operate business fleets and rely on vehicles in the delivery or maintenance of their product or service.
