PS Energy Group Expands Fueling Program
Utility Business Magazine

PS Energy Group Inc. has plans to take its regional Emergency Fueling Program to a national level. The program responds to natural disasters, weather-related crises and other energy-related challenges.

PS Energy created the program six years ago in response to a request from Southern Co. to help fuel its service vehicles during severe weather and emergencies. The program, designed for utilities and disaster response organizations, provides expedient relief options when conventional fueling is difficult or unavailable.

The program recruits and manages manpower, equipment and fuel to minimize the effects of floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, ice storms and other crises. PS Energy now operates this mobile-fueling program in nine states in the Southeast. Through alliances with jobbers, PS Energy is creating a nationwide network of fuel supply and equipment available to utilities on short notice in each emergency area. Although multiple jobbers may be assisting one utility, or one jobber is assisting multiple utilities, the customer only needs to contact PS Energy.
