PS Energy Group Implements New Phase Of 3 Year Contract With Lockheed Martin To Provide Fleet Fuel Management Services
Automotive Fleet Magazine

PS Energy Group has initiated the next phase of a three-year agreement with Lockheed Martin to provide Fuel Management Services at Lockheed Martin locations across the Country.

Build out for the initial phase of the fuel management program is now complete at the Lockheed Martin Marietta facility.

Under the 3 year contract PSEG is responsible for purchase, dispatch, and delivery of bulk fuel for Lockheed Martin and the gradual installation of a full service fuel management program at specific sites within the Lockheed Martin Corporation. To meet the unique operating requirements and transactional reporting needs at some Lockheed locations, PS Energy has installed fuel management equipment that uses proximity readers. These readers provide fueling authorization with the swipe of a valid employee badge. Data collection is achieved through cellular communications between PS Energy Group and the onsite fuel management equipment. These combined features reduce the amount of data entry required by Lockheed Martin employees when fueling, and reduce the installation costs associated with conventional phone lines.

The fuel system reporting for the Lockheed Martin Marietta location alone will provide detailed reports showing fuel utilization and preventive maintenance scheduling for 548 company vehicles. A fully implemented program for all Lockheed Martin sites has the possibility for involving as many as 7,128 company vehicles. Implementation will be on a site-by-site basis approved by site management.
