Automotive Fleet Magazine

ATLANTA - Loomis Fargo, a cash and transit company based in Dallas, TX, has signed a multi-year agreement for PS Energy to manage its fuel purchasing program, it was announced on Sept. 26, 2001. Loomis Fargo has a 2,500-vehicle fleet comprising mostly cars, vans, and medium-duty trucks. The agreement includes PS Energy managing Loomis Fargo's fuel card program, in addition to the mobile fueling program, and PS Energy will be issuing Voyager cards to Loomis Fargo drivers and orchestrating mobile fueling for Loomis Fargo locations nationwide. PS Energy also offers Wright Express and MasterCard.

Tommy Harden, Executive Vice President, Fleet Management, for Loomis Fargo, said that when Loomis Fargo needs fuel in a certain location, PS Energy will locate and negotiate fuel supply with vendors in that area. "PS Energy will use its purchasing power to get us better pricing," Harden said in an interview with Automotive Fleet. "This involves administrative savings, in addition to lower fuel costs, and they give us one bill that is delivered electronically with detail for all underlying transactions." The information is available at PS Energy's Web Site, which allows access for any Loomis Fargo accounting or fleet personnel.
